Biogas systems

From farm waste to economic resource

RestartLand, as part of the Energy Transition, aims to incentivize the production of energy from renewable sources such as biogas which allows electricity and heat to be produced exclusively from manure and slurry from animal farms.

The benefits

A Biogas system allows the production of electrical and thermal energy, guaranteeing immediate economic benefits.

L’energia elettrica generata dal biogas può essere utilizzata dall’azienda per autoconsumo e/o immessa nella rete nazionale in cambio di un corrispettivo.

The electricity generated from biogas can be used by the company for self-consumption and / or fed into the national grid in exchange of a fee.

The excess heat generated by the system can be used to meet the thermal energy needs of the various business processes (heating of milk or drinking water, air conditioning in milking parlors, hay drying rooms and households, etc.) .

The free availability of manure and slurry to power the plant, combined with the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of maintenance, allows for an economically convenient production of electricity from biogas.

Turn manure and slurry into heat and energy

Reduction of import dependency

Makes farming independent from an energy point of view

Reduces the environmental impact of farming

Digestate is a top quality fertilizer

Reduction of emissions and greenhouse effect

The biogas plant in the farm

The perfect integration between renewable bioenergy production and food production is made possible by anaerobic digestion, a natural biological process, optimized within the plant, during which the organic carbon of the incoming biomass has different fates.

The pillars of the agro-ecological conversion of agriculture in the near future thanks to integration with anaerobic digestion are essentially three:

• The valorisation of zootechnical effluents;

• Organic fertilization with digestate.

• The spread of double crops (ecological intensification of production, in other words, of photosynthesis)

Information for the construction of anaerobic digestion systems

Systems up to 100 kW

Registration in the registers of the G.S.E. is required which has no time limit. Twenty-year incentive of € 0.233 / kWh is foreseen

Systems from 100 to 300 kW

The call for registration in the G.S.E. registers will be closed on 7 September 2022.

Systems higher than 300 KW (Biogas to Biomethane production)

Registration in the registers of the G.S.E. is required until the capacity of the appropriate counter is completed.

40% of the cost of an anaerobic digestion plant is paid

out by the P.N.R.R. fund

Transform your farm waste into Energy

For the construction of small biogas systems it is necessary to find even small farms (starting from 40 cows or 1,000 pigs).

The number of animals required for an efficient functioning of the system differs according to the species and the way the animals are housed, while the volume required depends on how much the slurry has been diluted at the start.

To store manure and slurry, the tanks already present in the farm can be used.
